Job Description
The Application Support Specialist provides software support to physicians, medical office staff and healthcare staff. This includes guidance on how to use GE’s and other vendor’s products, trouble shooting software problems, and assisting customers with workflow issues. Individuals performing in this position must have excellent communication skills, dependable troubleshooting methodology, and a genuine interest in making the customers successful.
- General overall support of Centricity PM and/or EMR. To assist support calls/emails from clients regarding the use of the software components
- Designs, codes, tests, documents, implements and maintains EDI applications. Provides support for production and the operational versions of EDI transaction types, ANSI X12 Standards, translation maps and security that supports EDI applications
- Planning and implementation of product upgrades. Including actual software upgrades, service packs, and plug-ins.
- Bachelor’s degree in informative systems, computer science or related technical field or equivalent work experience.
- Advanced Project Management skills are required. The ability to utilize resources to complete tasks preceded by a defined goal or objective on budget and on time.
- Clinical application skills as they apply to Practice Management, Electronic Medical Records (EMR), and telecom are required.
- A strong customer-oriented mentality focusing on the timely resolution of problems is required.
- Experience working with EDI translation tools and ANSI X12 standards a plus.
