Job Description
Plan, implement, and support HL-7 based interfaces from and to various medical systems.
Job Responsibilities
This person will analyze requirements of customer requested interfaces along with communicate interface requirements to the customer and third parties. On top of that, they will determine compatibility of third party system by reviewing their HL-7 specification and will be designing an interface work flow accounting for connectivity, security, and clinical work flow. It is important that they assist the project manager in planning the interface project including the Statement of Work (SOW) and project schedule, along with implementing interface connections, testing interface connecting and logic with customer. The ability to manage several interface projects concurrently will be a needed skill.
This position will require that the staff member attends regular departmental meetings and provides assistance to other departments as required. Adhering to triPRACTIX Information Technology department Enterprise vision and qualitative/quantitative approach to customer service is a must, along with adhering to triPRACTIX confidentiality and acceptable use principals. They will be required to perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or director. And actively pursue the knowledge to keep current on HL-7 interface trends and advancements. We will expect them to assist Support department as available/requested, and create, work, and resolve cases as assigned. Not only assisting the Support department, but assist with other projects as requested/assigned.

Physical Demands
This position requires frequent walking (stairway included) to deliver forms, retrieve paperwork, and maintain the entire computer system. It also requires frequent balancing of forms and equipment, as well as standing, turning, stooping, crouching, lifting, and carrying, constant repetitive finger/hand/wrist movement and upper extremity dexterity coordination, ability to climb, crawl, and distinguish between hot and cold. Along with that, it requires normal auditory acuity to communicate in person and in telephone conversations, and to detect improper sounds in equipment. It requires normal visual acuity to read paperwork, observe computer monitor, and operate equipment.
- This position requires an outgoing and personable demeanor. A diplomatic quality as it relates to bridging the gap between Information Technology and clinicians. A strong customer service mentality is a requirement of this position.
- Requires mental alertness, follow-through, recall, and exacting attention to process the daily production, respond to the needs of users, and to communicate clearly with others.
- Requires ability to conceptualize, explain, teach, and motivate others.
- Requires ability to maintain positive attitude while dealing with many different constituencies and while working under pressure with time constraints, distracting background noise and activity, and constant interruptions.
- Works in an office setting with continual close exposure to video display terminals, and continual exposure to temperature changes, dryness, and dust.
- Frequent exposure to moderate noise. Occasionally comes into contact with moving objects, works in cramped quarters, and reaches up to high places.
- Environment is temperature-controlled, well lighted, and well ventilated. Rarely, the employee is required to go outside the office, deal with high humidity, or work in dirty conditions.
- Exposure to communicable diseases and body fluids is unlikely. Category III exposure as classified by OSHA.
- Travel required as needed which may be frequent amongst our geographical location.
