triPRACTIX, LLC Announces New software that Integrates Healthcare Applications with Unified Communications
Orlando, FL February 2008 – triPRACTIX is announcing the product launch of EXTENSION®, a healthcare workflow, communication and device integration engine, at the 2008 Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) conference at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando FL.
The EXTENSION® software delivers the workflow capabilities of an interface engine, clinical mobility products, and messaging services all combined in one solution. The features of the product allow for faster implementation of data interfacing, clinical mobility solutions for physicians, and customizability to meet the business needs of a hospital or medical practice.
Steve Tyler, the Director of Technology for triPRACTIX explains the uniqueness of the software to the market. “Workflow, communication and the use of many different devices can become a challenge for any healthcare IT group to support, let alone provide a fully integrated solution. EXTENSION® is unique in that it provides that power in a simple, easy to use package.”
EXTENSION® also tightly integrates any HL7-based medical application with Cisco Advanced Unified Communications, using standards-based protocols. EXTENSION® enables communication between applications and telecommunications to deliver functions such as intelligent call routing, auto notifications via phone call, email or text message, automatic electronic medical record pop up based on caller ID, and the ability to call patient directly from their chart, among many other functions.

The software is delivered in its own server appliance that is installed and configured at the customer site.
