Guten tag! I’m Jon Bartels and I’m proud to be part of the triPRACTIX development team. Through my related internships as well as more mundane jobs I’ve seen the ups and downs experienced by small businesses (1.5 employees) and large corporations (3000 employees) and triPRACTIX looked like just the right fit. Large enough to have the resources they need to serve their customers while still being able to hang out with the CEO for a football game. The development team here is top notch and I’m glad to be working with them. We’re working on some really exciting projects. I know that because we work with the medical industry my software will help people stay healthy and maybe even save a few lives.
I graduated from Kent State University with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science in August 2006 and I joined triPRACTIX a month later. I didn’t come to triPRACTIX right out of the classroom though. I spent my last year at Kent working in several internship positions. Last summer I was developing tests and new software for an insurance company. During the Fall of 2005 I spent a semester in Columbus, Ohio dividing my time between an intensive hands-on political curriculum and a human resources position. I had a few months between semesters here and I kept busy working with a gubernatorial campaign in Ohio. There are a lot of chickens in office in the Buckeye state. After getting my hands dirty in politics I left for Germany to finish my computer science related coursework and intern as a web developer for a growing music retailer.
When I’m not at the office I spend as much time as I can with my lovely fiancé. We’re both new to the area and still having fun exploring Fort Wayne and the rest of the region.
My other interests include racing in TSD Rally and RallyCross events, working the pits for my friends’ racing events, backpacking, climbing, exploring the music scene, and using what I learned campaigning in Ohio to help out in Indiana. In the future I hope to go back to Germany for another long term stay, hopefully triPRACTIX will go international soon.
Tschuss!
